The Narcotics Unit is a sub-element of the Special Investigations Section, within the Criminal Investigations Division. The Unit is comprised of the Smuggling Detail, Interceptor Squad and the V.I.N. Detail. The mission of the Narcotics Unit is to protect the community by proactively investigating and dismantling illegal narcotics distribution networks and vice-related criminal enterprises, including prostitution, gambling, and human trafficking, through intelligence-driven enforcement, community collaboration, and strategic partnerships with local, state, and federal agencies.

NARCOTIC INVESTIGATIONS (Street level to High level):

• Conduct undercover operations and surveillance to identify, infiltrate, and dismantle drug dealers and drug trafficking organizations.
• Target street-level dealers involved in the daily sale and distribution of controlled substances.
• Investigate and dismantle mid to high-level narcotics organizations, including those linked to cartels or multi-state operations.
• Seize illegal drugs, firearms, and assets obtained through drug trafficking.
• Collaborate with task forces such as the DEA, FBI, and ATF for joint investigations.

PROSTITUTION & VICE INVESTIGATIONS

• Investigate illegal prostitution operations, including street prostitution, escort services, and illicit massage parlors.
• Target human trafficking operations connected to sex trade or forced labor
• Work undercover to infiltrate and shut down organized vice rings and illegal gambling.
